Arthur's Stone, Knelston, West Glamorgan, WalesSituated toward the western end of the Gower Peninsula is the attractive village of Knelston with its ruined 12th century church. A little to the north of the village lies 'Arthur's Stone', a large burial chamber capstone at a place called Cefn-y-Bryn. Traditionally the Stone is claimed to be a pebble that Arthur removed from his shoe when on his way to fateful Camlann, site of his last battle where both he and his enemy's son Mordred/Medraut were injured, the latter being killed, the king nearly so. Arthur supposedly threw the stone over his shoulder to lie where it landed.
