Ynys Enlli (Bardsey Isle)
King Arthur |

Ynys Enlli (Bardsey Island) lies two miles off the coast of West Wales. It was once a place of pilgrimage where many holy men lie buried. This place is traditionally regarded as the true place of Merlin's retirement from the earthly things. He lies there in an enchanted sleep awaiting the reappearance of King Arthur. Welsh bardic lore claims that Merlin is the guardian of the Thirteen Treasures of ancient Britain, various emblems and objects that maintain the integrity of the Kingdom. Allegedly these are lie buried with him. Particularly in Welsh tradition, Merlin is regarded to be the spiritual guardian of Britain whose prophecies mainly concern the defence of the realm.
