Dozmary Pool, Bodmin Moor, Cornwall, EnglandOther Cornish sites closely associated with Arthur include Dozmary Pool, an eerie stretch of water found in the depths of Bodmin Moor. The Pool has long been accepted in Cornish lore as the waters into which Sir Bedivere was commanded by the dying Arthur to throw his magical sword Excalibur, thereby returning it to the Lady of the Lake from whom it had originally come. Excalibur was not the sword from the stone, that was broken in combat to be replaced by the enchanted sword at Merlin's behest.
